Our ped is at least vax delaying friendly. We are putting off any until after Ash turns two, and then just doing them one at a time with lots of space in between. As far as homepoathic friendly, the subject hasn't come up because I don't mention that we do our own doctoring. I let him diagnose, and if he wants to write a script, whatever, then we self treat and just don't fill the script. The pharmacy in Pleasant Hill, Integrated Health Solutions has two Naturopathic Pharmacists employed who are great at helping you choose what homepathic remedy to use. I used them during my pregnancy and the last time Liv had something worth treating. They do sit down consults too, if you call and make an appointment. Our ped is Raymond Owens at Mercy East Peds Clinic in Pleasant Hill. _________________ www.lifebysugarcreek.blogspot.com |

We see Dennis Hopkins in Ankeny, and he hasn't given us hassle about not vaccinating. We don't really talk about it, and not going in for well-baby or well-child visits certainly takes the pressure off, as well. Gosh, I guess we've just never really had cause to discuss homeopathics or alternative care with him. We generally go see him when I feel that one of us is ill enough to need a DO's help - which is usually AFTER we've tried homeopathics or herbs or wait-and-see or chiro, whatever. So by the time we end up there, we're ready for whatever he recommends.
Normally, he has recommended waiting and NOT filling an RX. The last time we had W in with some sort of infection, he wanted us to keep an eye on it for another 48 hours. If he got markedly worse, we were to take the prescriptions to a 24 hour pharmacy and have them filled and start immediately. If he stayed the same or got better, then no need to fill them. |
